A Midday Lunch of 24 Brown-Bagged Funnies to Get You Through the Workday (October 20, 2025)

Do you ever get a case of the Mondays that's so bad, you wonder what it's like to be rich enough to retire? I'm not talking disgusting 1% type of rich, but juuuust rich enough to stop working and live comfortably for the rest of your life. Maybe that could include a beach cottage in a small town, or a jet ski on the lake, but either way, the most important part of this daydream is that you don't have to clock in for your shift today.

You get to make lunch in your home kitchen, instead of microwaving pasta salad in the same work appliance that your coworker just used to reheat salmon. You'd get to garden in the morning instead of sitting in traffic. Perhaps in the afternoon, you could stroll around town and pick up cute little time-consuming hobbies like RC boat racing, quilting, or cross-country skiing. You could finally learn that second language you've always wanted to, because now you have the time.

Alas, if working weren't such a time devourer, we would all have so much more time to pursue the hobbies and daydreams we cook up on our 15-minute break. So today, instead of ruminating on bad vibes in the break room, imagine the amazing things you'll do when your retire and have all the time in the world.
